The department participated in the workshop held at the Higher Institute of Communication and Post of the Ministry of Communications on Wednesday 20/12/2017. The workshop entitled

"Distribution of Communication and Internet Towers and their Impact on the Environment and Human and the Proposed Solutions for the Integration and Redistribution of Towers."

The workshop focused on discussing the damages resulting from the large number of mobile towers and the Internet on residential areas near these towers. Participants discussed the studies and practical measurements in this area prepared by the World Health Organization and other international platforms working in this area. The workshop concluded with recommendations for the prevention of electromagnetic radiation and proposed a number of solutions to reduce the impact of these towers. Assist. Prof. Dr. Atheer Alaa and Assist. Prof. Dr. Jamal Mohammed Rasool participated in researches in this workshop.

On Tuesday, 12/12/2017, a scientific symposium was held for the Department of Communication Engineering entitled

Internet of Things and Communication

In the Conference Hall in the Department of Control Engineering and Systems. The symposium was attended by the Deputy of the University President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Studies and most of the heads of departments and centers and a large gathering of teachers and university students where the symposium discussed the applications of the Internet of things in life and the usefulness of optical fiber in the transfer of information instead of wireless communications as well as the effects of wireless communications on human life.

Assistant Professor Dr. Imad Shehab Ahmed delivered the seminar entitled

"MINIATURIZED FILTERS DESIGN FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION APPLICATIONS"

on Tuesday 19/9/2017 at the Martyr Mohammed Fadhel Hall. The researcher reviewed the profile of the University of Sulaiman Demirel / Turkey and the Faculty of Engineering in particular and its sections, He reviewed his work at the university and gave an overview of the research done at the university. The seminar was attended by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Imad Hussein Mirza, the Scientific and Administrative Deputies, the Heads of the Scientific Branches and the honorable teaching staff. On the basis of the University Order No. 1165 dated 9/8/2016 for the granting of a full-time scientific scholarship at the University of Sulaiman Demirel in the Republic of Turkey to Assist. Prof. Dr. Imad Shehab Ahmed where he began his work as a researcher in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering / University Suleiman Demirel / Turkey on 5/9/2016 to 1/9/2017.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Zanab Nasir Jameel of the Department of Communication Engineering, University of Technology has published at the scientific journal Energy Procedia with H-index 41.
She received an appreciation certificate for publication in this magazine, which is part of the international publishing house ELSEVIER. The published research entitled:

Prof. Dr. Imad Hussain Marza Al-Husseini attended a meeting of the Deans of the Engineering Colleges in Iraq.
The meeting was opened by Mr. President of the University of Kufa and stressed the importance of the engineering side in the country and the development of human resources to build our dear country.
The Deans discussed the details and paragraphs of the agenda which included 56 articles under the oversight of the main axes: Syllabus, the creation of the scientific departments, the teaching staff of the private engineering colleges, the formation of committees of experts to advance the specialized engineering reality in Iraq, the introduction of postgraduate studies in some engineering colleges, At the end of the meeting, the delegation met with the Governor of Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf and all stressed the hard work to develop the engineering aspect in the country.
