The Department of Communications Engineering organizes a discussion session on the methods and techniques of guidance used to reduce extremism and ideology
Written by ahmedWithin the activities of the cultural and scientific season of the department for the year 2024-2025 and under the direct supervision of the head of the department, Assistant Professor Dr. Afanin Anwar Abboud, the Department of Communications Engineering organized a discussion session entitled "Methods and methods of guidance used to reduce thought and extremism", delivered by Assistant Professor Hussein Abdul Karim Hamas, in the presence of the Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Ali Jabbar Salem, Head of the Optical Communications Branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Diaa Hassib, Head of the Wireless Communications Branch, Professor Dr. Muhammad Hussein Mari, and a large number of professors, affiliates and students of the department. The discussion session aimed to show that the concept of extremism differs from one society to another, as it is a pathological phenomenon that indicates the presence of a defect in the human psyche or in the surrounding circumstances, as the normal psyche by nature rejects extremism, fanaticism and stagnation, which means that extremism represents a departure from general norms, concepts, traditions and accepted behaviors, so that these actions and behaviors are unjustified and outside the constitution and prevailing law. He also noted the characteristics of an extremist person, which are fanaticism of opinion and group, extremism and fanaticism in opinion and not accepting dialogue with others, using violence and roughness in dealing, blind imitation of the person or group to which he belongs. She explained the most important causes of extremism, which are the economic situation, injustice, oppression and marginalization, backwardness and ignorance, social problems, indicating that there are reasons that are classified into another group of biological, psychological, social and religious reasons. As prof. lect. Hussein Abdul Karim Hamas explained, the most important methods of treating extremism in society are repentance to God and adherence to His law, adopting the method of dialogue in dealing with extremists because they have wrong thinking, working to reduce the stimuli of extremism and violence to the lowest level, caring for young people and their issues, interests and ambitions by urging them to learn and have good morals, urging them to commit to calm and self-control, encouraging good integration into society and instilling love of the homeland in their souls.

Communications Engineering Department organizes a panel discussion on the impact of drugs and psychotropic substances on the nervous system
Written by ahmedWithin the activities of the cultural and scientific season of the Department for the year 2024-2025 and under the direct supervision of the head of the Department. Dr. Afaneen Anwar Abboud
The Department of Communications Engineering organized a panel discussion entitled "The Impact of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances on the Nervous System", which was met by the Head of Researchers and Psychotherapist Amir Abbas Salman and Professor Imad Ali Hamadi, in the presence of the Head of Optical Communications Branch Dr. Mustafa Dheaa Hasib and Head of the Telecommunications Branch, Dr. Mohamed Hussein Meri and a large number of professors, associates and students of the department.
The aim of the panel discussion was to affect drugs and their effects on human health and on the nervous system in particular. Drugs are an extraneous phenomenon for the Iraqi people, especially young people. The reason for the lack of health awareness is that drugs have psychological and physical damage to the human body in general, such as lung cancer.
Loss of appetite for food, insomnia, fatigue, infectious ulcers, high blood pressure, accelerated heartbeat more than usual, as well as an effect on the nervous system leading to impaired memory
It also dealt with several main themes:
1. Spreading awareness among university students about the impact of biology on the human body in general and the nervous system in particular
2. Educating students about the fate of the ultimately abuser is inevitable death as a result of high dose use or even dose interruption can lead to death.
