Prof. Jawad K. Ali was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in November 1956. He received his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in 1979 and 1986, respectively, from Al-Rasheed College for Science and Technology, Iraq. From 1989-1991, he joined a Ph.D. study program at AZMA Academy, Brno, former Czechoslovakia. Since 2010, he has been a Professor of Microwave Engineering at the University of Technology, Iraq. He is the founder and the head of the Microwave Research Group at the University of Technology, Iraq. In 2018, he was awarded a Ph.D. in Communication and Electronics Engineering. He served as the Vice President of the University of Technology Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies till December 2019. Professor Ali has also served as the Dean of the Communication Engineering Faculty at the University of Technology, Iraq, till 2020. Currently, he is a Professor of Microwave Engineering at the Communication Engineering Faculty, University of Technology, Iraq. He is the Editor-in-chief and member of many national and international journal editorial boards. He has more than 100 published papers in local and international conferences and peer-reviewed journals. Prof. Ali is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Member of both IET and IEICE.
His research interests include:
• Microwave antenna miniaturization and
• Design, passive microwave circuit design, and
• FPGA-based system design.
