Atheer Alaa Sabri earned his Ph.D. degree in Communication Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology / Iraq in 2006. Atheer earned his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Al-Nahrain University in 1997. Also, he gets his master's degree in Communication Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering at University of Technology in 2000.

Atheer is a faculty member in the Electrical Engineering Department since 2000. Then he became a faculty member in Communication Engineering Department at the University of Technology (UOT) since 2015; where he became a Deputy Head of the Department for Scientific Affairs.
His research interested focus on Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, and Communication Systems.
