Cultural seminar
A cultural symposium in the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Technology
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Communications Engineering Department, Dr. Afaneen Anwar Abboud, within the first cultural season of the academic year 2023-2024, and to celebrate Iraqi Legislation Day, the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Technology held a cultural symposium entitled “Mesopotamia’s contributions to the legislative system,” delivered by Eng. Dr. Iyad Jawad Muhammad, Director of the Government Contracts Division at the University of Technology, discussed the development and emergence of the legislative and legal system in Mesopotamia and the great contributions it made and leadership in the field of legislation during different eras and civilizations. Legislative models and legal texts were shed light on, including the legislation of the Sharia of Urnmu, the Code of Hammurabi, and other contributions of the civilizations of Mesopotamia. The symposium was attended by the Head of the Communications Engineering Department, Dr. Afaneen Anwar Abboud, assistants, branch heads, university teachers and employees. The session was moderated by M. Dr. Hossam Hussein Ali, head of the scientific division and cultural relations in the department. At the conclusion of the symposium, Eng. Dr. Iyad Jawad Muhammad and the legal advisor, Israa Abdel Hassan, were presented by the Head of the Communications Engineering Department
Promotion of lecturers
The Department of Communications Engineering blesses the promotion of lecturers and wishes them more... The University Committee for Scientific Promotions at the University of Technology, with the approval of the University President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, decided to promote the teaching staff, Hussein Abdel Karim Hamas, from the rank of lecturer to the rank of assistant professor, as well as the teaching staff, Muhammad Rasheed Hussein, from the rank of assistant lecturer to the rank of lecturer. On this occasion, all the staff of the Communications Engineering Department, the assistants, the heads of the branches, as well as the head of the .department, Professor Afaneen Anwar Abboud, wish more giving, creativity, and progress to the lecturers
A lecturer in the Department of Communications Engineering publishes research at an international conference of the IEEE
Professor Dr. Thamer Muhammad Jameel, teaching in the Department of Communications Engineering, published a research entitled
An Overview for Channel Equalization Techniques in Filter Bank
The research was published at the ACA World Congress
2023 Second International Conference on Advanced Computer Applications (ACA), Misan, Iraq, 2023, pp. 7-12
The aim of the research paper is to provide a survey of the equalization methods used by the receiver of the FBMC OQAM wireless communication system. The research focuses on addressing challenges related to distortions such as fading, Doppler shifts, and multi-code interference that affect transmitted data symbols as they travel over the wireless channel. The paper aims to clarify the central idea, structure and process of various channel equalization algorithms proposed for communication systems to mitigate negative channel effects.
The research results confirm the importance of channel equality in achieving high data rates and reliable wireless communication in FBMC OQAM systems. It highlights the importance of addressing distortions such as fading, Doppler shifts, and multi-code crosstalk to improve the overall quality of the network. In addition, the paper provides a comprehensive survey of various future equalization approaches for the FBMC OQAM wireless communication system detailing their central ideas, architecture and operations.
